God Is An Astronaut

I have really been enjoying listening to this band recently. The album 'All is violent, All is bright' has been a particular favourite (although I haven't really listened to much of their other work yet!). God is an Astronaut are a three piece from Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Their music is often referred to as being part of the post-rock genre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-rock). So, as a tribute to seagoe, I am going to put up a video of one of their songs. Enjoy

Molar, I am impressed. The post-rock genre has long been a favourite of mine, GIAA being one I've recently come across myself.

Check out Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Yndi Halda, Mono, Sigur Ros (Grant's favourite band apparently) and more. Oh, and a guy called Eluvium though he's a tad electronic if you like that sorta thing. Tortoise... Evpatoria Report... I could go on!

Post-rock rocks.

Hey seags, thanks for that. I have a few things (which Duke actually introduced me to) and Mono is one of them. The others are 65 Days of Static and a band from belfast called And So I Watch You From Afar. So far I have only really given God is an Astronaut a good listen, but the others sound good too. I like that the music isn't ruined by lyrics!

My blog page is turning into a seagoe rip off!!LOL

Yea, I've heard 65 Days too, all in all mighty stuff.

Always knew the Duke had good music taste.
